On arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we will book an exclusive VIP meet and greet service; they will assist you through arrivals and immigration. A Hemingways driver will take you to the Hemingways Hotel.
The next day, a Hemingway driver will take you to the nearby Wilson airport for your flight to Shaba National Reserve with Ninian. Here, you will stay in our mobile Camp, which we will set up overlooking a pretty spring. Ninian has suggested using a helicopter to explore further north, including Lake Turakana. The camp will be the home base.
We have two flight options for getting to Shaba. One is a private charter flight, a direct flight from Wilson airport to the airstrip on the edge of Shaba Reserve, and then a game drive to Camp. Alternatively, you could fly by scheduled air service to Samburu and then drive to Camp in Shaba, which would take about 2 hours of game driving.

Next Stop Namiri Plains in the Eastern Serenegti in Tanzania.
Say farewell to Ninian and fly from Shaba to Seronera in the Eastern Serengeti, stopping in Kisumu and Musoma enroute for customs and immigration. On arrival at Seronerea airstrip, your Namiri guide will meet you and drive you to Camp, which will be approximately a two-hour game drive. You will stay in one of the two-bedroom Retreats. The predator densities in the Eastern Serengeti are incredible, especially for lions and cheetahs. At this time of year, we hope you will catch the migration. You will have a private car for your game drives.
Charter option: We can book this to depart from Shaba early so you arrive at Namiri in time for a late lunch.
Shaba – Kisumu 1hr 15 minutes
Kisumu Customs and Immigration approx 40 minutes (this is where you get your passport stamped and exit Kenya)
Kisumu- Musoma 45 minutes
Musoma (customs and immigration): 30-45 minutes (this is where you get your passport stamped and enter Tanzania)
Musoma - Seronera: 35 minutes

On to Rwanda. You will be driven back to Seronera airstrip to connect with a scheduled flight to Kigali, where you will stay two nights at Kigali Serena Hotel.

*The flight will stop at Mwanza to exit Tanzanian customs and immigration. There may be other stops en route.
After 2 nights in Kigali you will head to Singita Kwitonda Lodge at the base of the Virunga Mountains. It is a prettythree-hour drive through rolling hills covered in farms. You will have a private car. You will spend three nights at Kwitonda, which will be your base for two gorilla treks, which will take place on the 4th and 5th. (Gorilla permits are subject to availability and can't be held without full payment. Currently there are 90 permits available on both days).
After three nights at Kwitonda you will drive back to Kigali before flying home.
