Safari for Peter Moran and Friends

Dear Peter,

Below is an outline of an itinerary that we are holding for you for September 2025.

Ninian and two other Lowis and Leakey guides will guide you in the Mara and you will use the in- house guides at the other properties.

We look forward to your thoughts and any questions.

Your trip will start of in Nairobi with a VIP meet and greet at the airport to help you through customs and immigration and a transfer to the Hemingway’s Hotel where you will stay for one night.

The next morning you will fly by private charter to the Mara Triangle to meet Ninian and the other two guides who will game drive you to your private mobile camp that will have been set up for you. The hope is that the wildebeest migration will be in this part of the Mara for the time that you are there. It is a spectacular sight. The camp is far away from the more crowded parts of the reserve. You will have three nights here. You will be the only guests in camp and will have three vehicles and three guides to give you the best flexibility, spontaneity, and maximise game spotted.

After the Mara you will fly to Laragai House on Borana Conservancy. Laragai is a lovely private house that you will have to yourselves. Fabulous views, pretty gardens and pool, lots of freedom on game drives. Here you will see good numbers of Blackened White Rhino as well as fabulous plains game and some of the famous species that are endemic to northern Kenya such as the reticulated giraffe, the gravy’s zebra, the gerenuk, and oryx. Lots of opportunities to hike or mountain bike or horse ride too.

After Borana you will fly by private charter up to Kalepo, a remote camp in northern Kenya at the base of the Matthews mountains. Kalepo is stylish and beautiful and the country is rugged and stunning. The main aim of coming up to Kalepo will be to see and interact with the Samburu tribes people who live in the area. We strongly suggest that you combine this with a chopper trip. The chopper allows you to visit some of the wildest and remotest areas of Kenya quickly and safely. In a morning you can visit the sand dunes of the Suguta valley, the flamingoes of Lake Logippi, Vocanic craters on the shores of theLake Turkana the largest desert lake in the world, and walk along cool granite mountain ridge tops shrouded in forest.

After Kalepo you will fly to the Serengeti to stay at Paul Tudor Jones’ Singita Sasakwa on Grumeti Reserves. Amazing service but even more amazing wildlife for four nights.

We have you flying back to Nairobi in Kenya after your time at Sasakwa for day rooms in Nairobi before your flight home.
