On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will receive a VIP meet and assist service, ensuring a smooth transition through arrivals. You will then meet your driver, who will take you to Legendary Lodge in Arusha for the night. The drive from the airport to the hotel is approximately 90 minutes, depending on traffic.

We have the safari section of the trip starting in the Serengeti at Singita Sabora camp. You will be driven to Arusha airport with Ninian (about 20 minutes) to fly to the Serengeti. We love Sabora; it is situated right out on the plains and gives you a wonderful feeling of being "out there". The camp embodies opulent, vintage luxury with excellent service and good food.

On the 8th, you will fly from Singita to the Mahale National Park airstrip via Kigoma for a fuel stop. The total flight time will be 2 hrs. Once you get there, you will hop on a boat that will take you to Greystoke Camp. The boat journey will take between an hour and an hour and a half, depending on the water conditions. Mahale Mountains National Park is one of the most remote and beautiful parks in Tanzania - the chimpanzee experience is incredible, and the guides are passionate and enthusiastic, which makes the experience even more special. Due to its remote location, getting there is a long journey, but it's worth it for the unique experience. You will do two Chimpanzee treks while you are here.

The 11th is going to be a big day of travel. You will travel by boat from the camp back to the Mahale airstrip to fly to Songwe Airport - this is a short 20 minute hop. Songwe is where you will exit Tanzania to fly to Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. The flight will be in two sectors the first is an hour and and 40 minutes - you then stop at Ndola to refuel before continuing on to Victoria Falls (another 1 hour and 45 minute flight). You will spend two nights at Mpala Jena, a new camp by Great Plains in the Zambezi National Park. You can visit the Victoria Falls on your full day here.

On the 13th, say Farewell to Jill and Jeff, who are heading home via Johannesburg. Amanda, Tom, Sue, Ted and Ninian continue their safari to Botswana, flying by scheduled air service (two short hops of 20 minutes and 1 hour 20 minutes respectively) from Victoria Falls via Kasane for immigration and customs and on to Chitabe in the Okavango Delta. We love Chitabe Camp for its game viewing; they often see wild dogs here and we love the landscape, which includes floodplains, marshes, and woodlands.

On the 16th, you will fly by scheduled air service to Vumbura Private Reserve, where you will stay at Little Vumbura Camp. Vumbura is a magical aquatic wonderland with vast floodplains adorned with lilies and river channels protected by towering reeds and papyrus. The waterways are dotted with islands surrounded by forests, which you can explore using a boat or a canoe. Within a short twenty-minute boat ride, the dry savanna boasts an abundance of wildlife, including Ninian's favourite, the herds of Sable antelope.

On the 19th, you depart by scheduled air service to Maun. You can connect to a flight to Johannesburg, a central hub for international flights home.
