Southern Serengeti

Tanzania

Log Out

Serian's Serengeti Kusini is set up in the acacia woodland on the edge of the short grass plains on the western edge of the southern Serengeti from December to May. The camp is within fairly easy reach of the Ndutu region of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area; it is perfectly placed to catch the wildebeest calving season.

Serian Kusini is a stylish mobile tented camp that aims to give guests a simple, authentic bush experience. It's a relaxed and friendly camp. The guiding is good, and each group of guests automatically get a private vehicle and guide which allows for incredible flexibility.

The camp's location at Kusini allows exploration of the southern short grass plains without staying in the very busy Ndutu region, allowing extra exclusivity.

The camp offers a variety of tent configurations to cater to different group sizes and preferences. Each of the four tents can be set up as a double, twin or triple. There are also two family tents which consist of two interconnecting bedrooms with a central siting area.

At the heart of the camp, there is a communal mess tent with comfortbale seating and a spacious dining area, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing dining experience.

About This Area

The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is a vast expanse of sprawling grasslands crisscrossed with the green veins of seasonal watercourses and dotted with grazing herds of game. An area of roughly 15,000 km sq, it is a jewel within the Greater Serengeti ecosystem and a haven for wildlife. In this vast wilderness you feel you can explore forever and never tire of it.

Vast short-grass plains cover the south of Serengeti National Park, stretching into the north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Maswa Game Reserve. The majority of this area is flat open savannah, dotted with occasional small rocky outcrops, Kopjes. The plains are alive with grazing wildebeest from around late-November to April, although the precise timing of the migration is entirely dependent upon rainfall patterns each An estimated two million wildebeest, half a million zebras, and countless other herbivores traverse the ecosystem during this time.
