Perched above the Mara River, Serian Camp and its sister property, Ngare Serian, are small, traditional tented camps.
Serian lies within the private Mara North Conservancy and features five guest tents, including a family suite. Each tent is set on a wooden deck overlooking the river and furnished with elegant simplicity, complemented by thoughtful touches that create a homely feel.
The central areas are simple but welcoming, with a cosy sitting room and dining space. Breakfast, lunch and – weather permitting – dinner are usually served on the spacious deck beneath the trees, with lovely views over the river and across to Serian’s sister camp – Ngare Serian.
Ngare Serian sits on the opposite bank of the Mara River and is reached via a suspension bridge. Its four traditional safari tents are very comfortable, each with a veranda and a sunken bath. The camp also has its own mess tent with a sitting room and dining area.
The surrounding area is unfenced, and dining at Serian is communal. Guests can enjoy off-road and night game drives, guided walks and a wonderfully relaxed safari experience.
This is not a fancy camp, but its setting is lovely and it offers a charming, old-school safari atmosphere.
About This Area
Mara North Conservancy is a beautiful private wilderness area of more than 30,000 hectares. It forms the north-western zone, bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. The conservancy is a partnership between eleven member camps and over 800 Maasai landowner. It has good wildlife and pretty landscapes.
