Laikipia

Kenya

Log Out

Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is a traditional tented bush camp situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in the western part of the reserve.

The camp is located in a prime location within Ol Pejeta, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, including the chance to see both black and white rhinos.

The staff are welcoming, and the camp has a homely, informal atmosphere. The food is not fancy, but it is good. The main areas of the camp overlook a small salt lick.

There are eight guest tents, including one large family tent, which are spacious and simply decorated. Each tent features a veranda with a view of the river and an en-suite bathroom.

Ol Pejeta is a busy conservancy, and while you will see plenty of wildlife, you will also encounter other tourists.

About This Area

Ol Pejeta, originally a cattle ranch, is situated between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range. It is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos and a sanctuary for over 165 critically endangered black rhinos. It is said to have the highest diversity of wildlife in Kenya outside of the Masai Mara. There are still cattle on the conservancy, and they play a role in maximising the biodiversity of the land.
The conservancy has an Environmental and Conservation Centre that welcomes around 100 Kenyan schools through its doors annually. The Centre focuses on teaching ecology, culture and the importance of sustainable wildlife management to safeguard the future of conservation.
